With the cooperation of the White House, the Republican National Committee, and the city of Dallas, Don Adair was honored to paint the Official Poster for the 1984 Republican National Convention. After the first posters were printed, the White House informed the city of Dallas that an overlooked presidential protocol error had been found. The Vice-President was standing on the wrong side of the President at the bottom part of the painting. A quick change was required of the artist. Time did not permit repainting the figures so he painted a "GOP" banner with stars over the two figures. The revised poster was printed and sold at the convention. Until now, very few have seen the original "Official" poster. Both of the 19 x 25 posters are collectors items and the artist has personally signed each reproduction. The interesting story was detailed in the Arlington Pathfinder Magazine, and a copy of that article is included with each order. Only a limited number of these highly collectible posters remain. They are not reprints, but the original pre-convention posters, all in mint condition. They may be purchased singularly, or as a pair. If buying singularly, please specify which one you want.
